Coney Island

No New Yorker's summer is complete without a trip to that quintessential summer destination, Coney Island. Kind of embarrassing, then, that I've lived here for 3 years, and this was my first trip. Sure, it's not the gem it used to be in the 1920s, but it certainly has character you can't find anywhere else in the 5 boroughs. Here are a few shots, and to prove that you don't need to spend thousands on your camera to get halfway decent shots, all of these were taken with a Canon Powershot A540, and all but the first one with a 52mm filter adapting ring, and a circle polarizer. A great way to travel light and still get nice pictures.

Check Becky's blog soon for more on the trip and the freak rainstorm that almost washed out our first Nathan's experience.

  1. I enjoyed every minute of my Coney Island experience since it was with you!

P.S. Even the part where we got drenched by the terrential rains... :)
