Photo assignment - week 3

For week 3, the challenge was to capture motion. What happened to week 2? I was travelling, taking the little ladybug to meet her great grandfather. So while that put me in the perfect mindset to capture "home," it left me no time to shoot. But it was a fantastic trip, and I'm very glad we were able to go.

I've done plenty of shooting in the subway, so I've captured motion in a lot of pictures. Therefore, I wanted to go about it a bit differently.

First, I figured I'd try adding motion to a stationary scene by zooming during the image. I've never tried it before, and it is as difficult as I've heard. It is nearly impossible to hold the camera still while twisting the barrel of the lens. I suppose a tripod would've helped, but I was without one that day. Here's the one shot I feel is worth sharing - it's not the best suited subject/setting, but you gotta shot what you got in front of you sometimes.

After that, I tried panning. I don't pan well. In fact, I pan worse than I zoom, apparently. Nothing to show here.

So for the second shot, back to the subways. I realized I've always shot a moving train going through the station from the platform. Why not from inside the train? I think this one is rather interesting; I'm particularly fond of the reflections captured in the window.
